happy earth day!!

this american land, mutual aid with the planet, and taking a breath

hi friends,

one thing that really struck me when i was roadtripping across the U.S. researching sustainable alternative communities? just how beautiful america is.

like this sunflower field in denver

a sunflower field just south of denver, CO, as a hailstorm approaches

or this lakeside in kansas

dusk in central KS. sorry for the tilt of the picture — pretty sure i took this one while i was swimming :)

for a lot of us americans, we’re not exactly overflowing with patriotism right now. it’s a complicated time to be a part of this political nation.

it’s not any more of a complicated time, though, to be a member of this ecosystem.

the sun gives us warmth, the rain feeds the plants, the plants feed the animals. we all breathe.

birds chirp and coo, even in the city. spiders build ephemeral architecture.

make it actionable

ecovillages and other sustainable communities are one way to help us live more integrated to the natural world. but wherever you live,

what’s new

trying out a new newsletter template/format — any thoughts?

i’m about to send out my next round of book proposals, and the number of paid subscribers really matters to publishers. here’s the catch — they don’t care about the amount people are paying, just the number of people willing to put money behind their interest in your writing (which they count as the number of expected book buyers).

so if you become a paid subscriber even for $1/month, that significantly helps my chances of getting a book deal!

here’s the link if you want to set up a sliding scale subscription, where you can name your price! or, you can join a subscriber tier through my newsletter platform with the button below, if you prefer:

art giveaway to paid subscribers coming soon! thank you always for your support

happy earth day, and happy easter to those who celebrate <3

much love,
